The Role: You'll be working in our busy Yard & Drive Thru area in our Dunedin branch. As part of our team you will be serving customers, loading, and unloading products onto vehicles/trucks. Daily you will be responsible for - * Assisting our customers within our timber yard & drive thru department * Loading of goods on to customer vehicles * Processing customer orders and transactions * Picking orders for delivery when needed * Monitoring inventory, cycle counts * Assisting as directed to ensure an efficient warehouse is maintained * Operating a Forklift This is a permanent full-time role, offering 42.5 hours a week based in our Dunedin branch. About you: You will play a lead role in ensuring our loyal customers are giving the upmost care and service. We are looking for a good kiwi battler who is as comfortable leaning on a farm gate and talking all things rural as they are in the yard and showroom exploring customers' projects. Strong relationships are at the heart of what we do. You'll do the leg work that makes things happen for rural producers; in return we'll provide you with a wide range of opportunities to develop skills and help you progress. * Regular hours - paid weekly * On the job training * Team discount on commencement About the role We have an opportunity for our next outdoor timber specialist (sales/yardperson) to join our team, based at our retail store, McGlashan Street, Mosgiel. You'll greet customers with a smile and 'can do' attitude, talk to them either in person or over the phone, finding out their product needs to ensure they get the best value option for their project. We work as part of a small team, so assisting in the yard as needed, putting orders together, using the forklift/loader and putting product away will also be required. Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Saturday mornings are worked on a roster amongst the team. Skills and experience While a background in customer service, yard work, farming or forklift experience may be an advantage, full training will be provided. It is more important that you can demonstrate: * An ability to match our rural customer dedication and passion to producing and supplying natural products * Self-motivation and reliability * Honesty, integrity and a commitment to deliver what you promise * Ability to converse with and understand our customer base about all things farming * Being the sort of character that can get on with and relate to a wide range of people * Physical fitness appropriate for lifting timber/posts with a commitment to safe work practices * A willingness to be trained and learn new skills You will need a full driver's licence (or the ability to get one soon) as you will be required to drive our vehicles and obtain your F and/or W licence endorsements once trained.
