Position Overview: We’re now looking for a Contracts Manager to join our team - someone who can take ownership of project delivery from tender through to completion, while still being hands-on enough to support site operations and project delivery. This position combines contract management and project engineering functions, offering genuine variety and scope. You’ll work closely with our Management team, Engineers, and Foremen to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to Waipa Civil’s quality standards. Key responsibilities: * Managing contracts, variations, and project documentation. * Supporting project setup, programming, and progress tracking. * Providing technical input, quality assurance, and compliance oversight. * Maintaining strong client, supplier, and council relationships. * Mentoring engineers and supporting site teams to achieve project goals. * Ensuring safety and quality systems are followed across all sites. About You: You’re confident working across both commercial and technical areas of project delivery, with an eye for detail and a practical, collaborative approach. Requirements: * A civil engineering qualification or relevant industry experience. * Proven experience in water, wastewater, and drainage projects. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. * A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to lead by example. This role would suit an experienced Project Engineer ready to step into a broader commercial role - or an established Contracts Manager seeking a stable, respected Waikato-based team.
