Location Millers Flat, Central Otago, New Zealand Company Hawkeswood Mining Limited Reports to Operations Team Overview: Hawkeswoods, a family-owned New Zealand company, with 20 years of experience in civil and mining operations throughout New Zealand, has launched the Millers Flat Alluvial Project. This project will employ up to 30 personnel in roles ranging from earth moving and dredge operations to administration, health, safety, and compliance. Based near Millers Flat township in Central Otago, the project is expected to last seven years. Key Responsibilities: * Operate drill rigs safely and efficiently to meet operational goals. * Perform drilling tasks as directed, ensuring accurate and timely completion. * Assist with drill rig setup, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring proper operation and safety at all times. * Grease and fuel drill rigs and other machinery, as needed. * Assist with the maintenance and servicing of mining and earth-moving equipment. * Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of work areas, both inside the workshop and on-site. * Maintain a high standard of safety and comply with all safety protocols. * Work closely with the team to complete tasks on time and contribute to the success of the project. Qualifications/Experience: * Previous experience as a Driller or Drill Rig Operator is preferred but not required. * Mechanically minded with an interest in machinery and equipment maintenance. * Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting and operating heavy equipment. * Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. * Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions from supervisors. * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. * Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing conditions.
