Earthworks Operations: * Daily operation of various machines * Working underneath Earthworks Manager and assisting with toolbox talks, allocating tasks and monitor progress against mine path and cut-fill schedules. * Assist in co-ordinating topsoil stripping, pre-strip, haul road formation, stockpiling, and rehabilitation works. * Monitor dig profiles, road camber, drainage, and compaction to meet design tolerances. Maintenance & Equipment Management: * Liaise with the workshop to schedule services, breakdown call-outs and preventative maintenance. * Record machine hours, defects, and downtime; initiate corrective actions to minimise delays. Health, Safety & Compliance: * Enforce all site rules, SOPs, and critical controls; conduct field-level risk assessments and incident first-response. * Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective actions. * Maintain environment controls (bunding, sediment traps, archaeological avoidance zones) and report breaches People Leadership & Training: * Supervise and mentor operators, truck drivers and ground crew; deliver on-the-job training toward competencies. * Provide regular performance feedback and assist with competency assessments. * Work closely with Earthworks Manager and relay instructions.
