About the Role We are currently seeking to employ a Business Unit General Manager - Maintenance to ensure that all contract deliverables are achieved according to agreed timeframes and to manage client relationships. The scope of this role includes: Managing the Business Unit's overall operations in the companies six strategic areas of financial performance, customers, safety, people, systems and business growth. Carrying out business planning to ensure that the Business Unit achieves its profit goals. Developing relationships and business opportunities at Business Unit level with key customers. Ensuring the sound governance of the Business Unit in respect of all legal, regulatory, compliance and parent company requirements. Forecasting, securing and planning future work to ensure a profitable business. Managing and developing staff performing a variety of roles at various levels. Mentoring and developing the skills of managers and employees and guaranteeing the Business Unit's technical capabilities. Defining the Business Unit's sustainable development strategy and implementing its marketing action plan. Managing the Business Unit in compliance with ethical standards. Defining and applying the Business Unit's health, safety, quality and environmental policy. Overseeing the management of Preventative and Corrective Maintenance plans and Asset Replacement, including Condition Assessment, to ensure contract deliverables are achieved within the agreed timeframes. Overseeing the provision of Technical, Switching and Value-Added services, to ensure contract deliverables are achieved within the agreed timeframes. Identifying and overcoming any barriers to executing the contract and seeking opportunities to improve and expand the service to be delivered to internal and external customers. Collaborating with the Customer Delivery, Reactive and Project Services Business Managers to ensure that network performance is analysed to identify weakness and opportunities to improve network reliability and security. Ensuring that the Maintenance profit centre vehicles, tools and equipment are controlled and maintained to meet company and regulatory requirements. Implementing HSEQ strategy, carrying out effective HSEQ planning and managing and continuously improving HSEQ practices. Who are we? Qualifications and Skills • Tertiary level qualification - Business Management/Leadership or advanced trade qualification is preferred. • Equivalent industry experience. • An established business network in the construction and/or maintenance sectors. • Communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interface with industry representatives, client organisations and government agencies at an operational level.
