Put simply, sustainability is what we do. **Job Description**We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Operator to join our hardworking team at Kate Valley Landfill in Waipara. This role plays a key part in both the safe and efficient operation of the landfill and the ongoing construction and earthworks that support site development. You’ll operate a range of heavy earthmoving machinery such as excavators, dozers, compactors, graders, and dump trucks to complete a variety of civil and landfill-related tasks. These include cut and fill operations, cell construction, drainage and lining works, road building and maintenance, as well as daily waste placement, compaction, and cover activities if required. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with a supportive team to ensure the landfill operates smoothly, safely, and in line with environmental standards. _Key responsibilities will include_ - Operate a range of heavy earthmoving machinery, including compactors, excavators, dump trucks, and bulldozers to move, spread, and compact materials across the landfill site. - Carry out daily earthworks activities, including excavation, grading, backfilling, and placement of cover material, in line with site plans and environmental standards. - Maintain a professional image of the company and deliver high quality customer service at all times. - Conduct daily pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning of plant and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. - Complete all paperwork and records accurately, as directed and required. **Qualifications**_Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications_ - Moderate experience operating earthmoving equipment, such as, but not limited to compactors, excavators, dump trucks and bulldozers - Mechanical aptitude - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. - Class 2, WTR required and Class 4 desirable **Additional Information** **In return** We offer a competitive salary, ongoing training, and personal development so you can achieve your career goals and a great company culture.
