Position Description - Greenstone Track Host Ultimate Hikes offers guided multi-day walks on New Zealand's Milford and Routeburn Tracks, blending hiking with comfortable lodges and exceptional hospitality in Fiordland and Mt Aspiring National Parks. Join our team to create unforgettable guest experiences in stunning locations! Purpose As a Greenstone Lodge Host, you'll be the heart of our remote lodges, ensuring guests and staff enjoy exceptional hospitality, delicious meals, and a pristine environment. Based at our Greenstone Track lodges, you'll work in a close-knit team to create memorable experiences for up to 24 guests daily. This role is perfect for those who thrive in remote settings, love hospitality, and are passionate about the outdoors. The role is seasonal, from early October 2025 until mid April 2026. Key responsibilities * Hospitality & Guest Experience: Create a warm, welcoming lodge atmosphere, delivering outstanding service, meals, and housekeeping that exceed expectations. * Cooking & Food Management: Prepare, cook, and present breakfast, dinner, and snacks daily, adhering to set menus, portion control, and dietary requirements. Manage stock, ordering, and food storage to company standards. * Housekeeping: Perform daily cleaning tasks, including guest rooms, bathrooms, laundry, and lodge maintenance, with thorough mid- and end-of-season cleans. * Health & Safety: Uphold safety standards, comply with the Food Control Plan, and ensure lodge equipment is safe and well-maintained. * Administration: Complete lodge reports, timesheets, and communicate promptly with the Operations team to resolve issues. * Teamwork: Foster a collaborative, positive workplace, supporting lodge setup, maintenance, and adapting to flexible schedules (including split shifts, evenings, and weekends). Relationships The role reports to the Lodges Manager and Operations Manager, and also works closely with the overall Operations team. Person specifications We seek enthusiastic, resilient individuals with a passion for hospitality and the outdoors. Purpose Lodge Attendants are responsible for providing daily housekeeping and hospitality services to create a welcoming guest experience, maintaining the presentation of a well-kept lodge complex. As part of a close-knit team, you will deliver high standards of service throughout the lodge. The role is seasonal, from mid October 2025 until mid April 2026. Key responsibilities * Providing excellent guest service and a welcoming lodge environment * Performing housekeeping duties (cleaning, laundry, bed making) * Assisting with kitchen duties (food prep, service, dishwashing) * Serving drinks and managing guest accounts accurately * Adhering to health, safety, and lodge compliance standards * Supporting lodge maintenance and occasionally accompanying guests * Working flexible hours (evenings, weekends, split shifts) with a positive attitude Location The role is based at one of the remote lodges on the Milford or Routeburn Tracks where you will work and live for up to five weeks at a time. These lodges, with the exception of Mitre Peak Lodge, are inaccessible by road. Relationships The role reports to the Lodge Manager and Lodge Assistant Manager at your lodge. The role is full-time from early October 2025 until mid April 2026.
