About the role The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Network Aotearoa is seeking a Research Data Lead to join our small, high-performing team delivering the AYA Cancer Action Plan. The role of the Research Data Lead is to set the Network's research direction and provide timely and accurate data to support the effective delivery of the AYA Action Plan. This is a highly autonomous and specialised national role. You'll be joining a collaborative, values-driven team that is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with cancer. About the Network The AYA Cancer Network Aotearoa was established in 2014 to determine and direct improvements in cancer services for young people aged 12-24 years. The Network provides strategic direction and clinical leadership of AYA cancer in New Zealand and is contracted directly to Te Aho o Te Kahu - the Cancer Control Agency to undertake this role. The aim of the Network is to find new and innovative ways of delivering care to all AYAs diagnosed with cancer and ultimately, to improve outcomes. This ward focuses on rehabilitation for patients with older adults who have been admitted with a variety of injuries and medical conditions. The OT in this role may also be required to support on the orthopaedic and neuro-rehabilitation ward when required. The emphasis of this role is on timely and high quality Occupational Therapy input, and inter-professional ways of working when delivering care. The ability to assess and contribute to decision making and complex discharge planning as part of a team, is crucial for this role. This position may provide mentorship to rotational Occupational Therapists, students and delegates work to Allied Health Assistants, depending on the level of experience of the candidate. This role can be made suitable for new graduates. About the Team/Service/Location The inpatient rehabilitation multi-disciplinary team is a close-knit team of allied health, nursing and medical colleagues, based at Kenepuru Hospital.
