What’s the opportunity | He aha te whai waahi We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our Water Services team based at the Pines Wastewater Treatment Plant in Rolleston, Canterbury. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of activities, including: • Treatment process assessment • Laboratory testing • Scheduled checks/maintenance of pumps and other mechanical equipment • Operation of water separation processes • Fault/breakdown identification and rectification • Installation of new wastewater supplies The successful applicant will need to be willing to learn, have a positive outlook, and lots of energy, as this is a physically demanding role. You will also need to be safety-conscious, have the ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and take direction. CORDE’s maintenance contract covers the entire Selwyn District, offering a spectacular, safe, and thriving place to live and work. The Company Topcoat Specialist Coatings (South Island) Ltd is a leader in the application of industrial specialist coatings – including epoxy floor coatings, resin toppings, waterproofing systems, intumescent coatings, and concrete repairs. With over 30 years’ experience, Topcoat is a well-established business working across a diverse range of industries. The Job As a specialist coatings applicator, you will work within a team to: • Measure areas, and calculate product quantity consumptions • Use allocated materials, products, tools, and equipment to complete the preparation and application of specialist floor coatings, waterproofing systems, intumescent, and concrete floor repairs • Follow project and health & safety documentation and processes • Clean and maintain tools and equipment • Ensure quality assurance • Communicate with other staff members and clients This role is based in Queenstown with job locations varying across the Otago region and some travel and time working away from home may be required. This will be discussed in advance and allowances will be provided. Hours will be a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week (excluding overtime). Any overtime hours will be paid at ordinary rate. Starting rate of $28.00 gross per hour, negotiable depending on individual experience. Occasional weekend work will be available.
