Are You IPSL's Next Field Technician - Water? We’re looking for a Field Technician (Water) to join our team. If you think it could be you, let’s talk. For this role, you must have: * A Water ticket - minimum Level 3 Certificate in Water Reticulation or equivalent * Class 1 Full Driver's Licence; Class 2+ and WTR are preferred * Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role * Prior experience in civil construction * A keen interest in learning the principles of water reticulation, pipeline pressure testing, and chlorination * We will need you to work Monday to Friday from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (with overtime options) and be open to working weekends and public holidays occasionally. What will I be part of? Join Independent Pipeline Services (IPSL), an industy leader in pipeline testing, chlorination, and leak detection, serving the Water infrastructure sector across the South Island. We're looking for Water Technicians to help our team in pressure testing and chlorinating water pipelines. This role is crucial for our goal to distribute clean drinking water efficiently. What does a day in this job look like? You will start your day at our Rolleston base, preparing equipment and review job requirements. You’ll then work independently (or with a colleague) driving between civil/water infrastructure sites mainly within Canterbury. At these sites, you will follow IPSL's industry-leading chlorination and pressure testing procedures to ensure the water pipelines or reservoirs meet commissioning standards for drinking water. This job is for you if you: * Have attention to detail to follow written methods and keep clear and detailed written reports * Are comfortable with learning new skills, technology, and solving problems under time pressure * Don’t mind working outdoors, are fit and healthy (for physical, manual work), and enjoy getting your hands dirty and wet * Can plan ahead to anticipate needs and adapt to changes in priorities and workload * Are able and willing to work with a diverse range of people - civil contractors, engineers, council staff, and colleagues This job isn’t for you if: * You think you know everything about water (we will train you) * Prefer to be in an office or around a team throughout the day * Shy away from learning and using technology * Starting early and being flexible with your workday isn’t an option How to Apply : 1. It is essential that any individual joining us is experienced in working in any weather and all types of sites, including mud, steep and rocky terrain. This is a labour intensive job. Great wages will be negotiated for the right person. The work is based in Northland, and you will travel back and forth each day to the site in most situations, from our yard. You must have your own vehicle to get to and from our yard. Where the site is too far away and the team have to stay over, transport will be provided along with accommodation and food. There is a good solid pipeline of work that will keep you busy.
