Baker/Food Trades Worker Location - Leeston Bakery Selwyn, Canterbury Job type - Full time Duration - Permanent Approximate pay - $28-$30 per hour Description As a baker you will: -Bake different kinds of bread, muffins, authentic pastries, short eats, cakes, and sweet buns. -Should be able to bake authentic savouries using meat and seafood. -Must have competency in handling food under certain temperature levels. -Should be able to load, unload, de-pan, cool, empty, clean, grease baking trays and other cooking equipment. -Order ingredients and supplies gauging average daily consumption. -Keep all equipment clean and well maintained. -Excellent coordination and clear team communication. -Follow food handling and hygiene rules. -Follow the roster, start, and finish on time. -Prioritise food safety. Job Requirements -Candidates must have a positive work attitude to deal with customers from various nationalities. -Knowledge and experience using baking equipment, know how to bake authentic pastries, authentic bread, short eats, muffins, cakes, authentic bread rolls and sweet buns, pastries, desserts, decoration, handling seafood and meat as part of the job. -Food safety is priority. -Three years’ experience in authentic baking or a qualification equivalent to NZQF level 4. -Having authentic baking skills to make traditional Sri Lankan sweets, pastries, muffins, savouries and cakes etc will be considered. -Ensure that the H & S Food safety and store procedures are strictly followed.
