The Opportunity: We're looking for dedicated and vigilant lifeguards to join our team at Gore Aquatic Centre. If you have a strong sense of responsibility and enjoy working with people of all ages, this role is perfect for you. Whether you have prior experience or are eager to learn, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our patrons. The Role: As a Senior Lifeguard, you'll actively monitor aquatic facilities, respond to emergencies, and ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the pool area. You'll also assist with programs and events, promote the facility, and provide excellent customer service. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude. In addition to the above you will: • Actively monitor aquatic facilities and interact with patrons to ensure a safe environment. • Respond quickly and efficiently to patrons in difficulty, ensuring safety for all. • Report hazards, accidents, or injuries immediately to supervisors. • Promote the facility and ensure customer satisfaction. • Assist with the running of programs and events, including setting up equipment. • Maintain the facility's cleanliness and hygiene. • Undertake additional duties as required by the Pool Operations Supervisor or Aquatic Services Manager. To be successful in this role, you will have: • Understanding of good customer service and communication skills. • Ability to relate well to people of all ages. • Experience in customer service (desirable). • New Zealand Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (desirable). • Workplace First Aid Certificate (desirable). • Confidence in rescue techniques and first aid. • Ability to monitor aquatic activities and ensure safety. • Flexibility to assist with other duties during busy periods. • Strong communication skills and high level of personal and professional integrity. • Motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and improve.
