New Zealand 1855 Chalons 2d Deep Blue [1864 NZ upright watermark perf 13 at Dunedin SG105], mint MNG in pristine condition. This stamp seems to be extremely rare unused; only example found was a unique strip of three from the Ken Lynch Collection [sold for $3119 including buyers premium] which however had many faults where only one was in acceptable condition and even then with very shifted perforations [the overall strip having numerous faults including misplaced perforations, aging faults and short perfs plus creasing]; the only single example found was an otherwise imperforate example if not for a single misplaced perf 13 row in centre from the Odenweller Reference Collection [sold $1155 including buyers premium]; I could not find an equivalent single example which seems especially unusual given many distinguished collections being sold in modern times having numerous otherwise rare or unique items. To add further to this, this example is exceptional in its condition regarding well centred perforations and practically pristine appearance without faults. Would be a clear highlight in any competitive international exhibit or collection of the New Zealand Chalon Series. Specialised [CP 2022] CV: $3000.00 [which I question whether adequate considering the absence for sale in distinguished collections].
