Dairy Holdings is a growing dairy business that provides our customers with the highest quality food from 100% pasture. Here at Dairy Holdings Contracting we support the vision of our parent company through in-house contracting services focused on establishing and maintaining exceptional winter grazing crops, and a comprehensive regrassing program. To this aim we run a fleet of modern tractors, cultivators and drills, with two spray trucks in support of crop health, all running precision gps systems to maximise efficiency. We also have assorted other implements and excavators to keep us occupied outside of the main cultivation season, with a focus on maintaining our farms. As the leader in our workshop your role will be to perform services and repair work, both in our workshop and in the field as required, this covers Tractors, Implements, Utes, Excavators and Spray trucks, so a willingness to learn and give everything a go is key. We take view of doing what we can in house, and involving OEM dealers and other repairmen as needed, so take a balanced approach to what we can do, and involving other expertise as needed. The role will include liaising with parts suppliers as needed to keep the right stock on hand for services and typical repairs. A service truck with lockable toolboxes is provided as part of the role. The successful applicant will be a motivated, driven individual with a strong work ethic, and a proactive attitude towards health and safety. The daily tasks will require work both individually and as part of a team, so strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential. Button Contracting have been operating in the Canterbury region for the last 26 years. We have two fully mechanised hauler logging crews and an earthmoving crew. Due to our long standing mechanic moving on, we are currently seeking a qualified heavy diesel technician. Applicants who apply should have the following: - Relevant heavy diesel trade qualification - can work well unsupervised as well as part of a team - Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills - Have a strong health and safety culture for yourself and those you are working with - Be reliable honest with a positive can do attitude - Be self motivated and organised - Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing - Must have good communication with management and fellow workmates - Have full driver license - A good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems With this position you will be responsible for ordering parts that are needed for repairs and maintenance of the equipment you are working on. Wage rate depending on qualifications and experience is $40-$50ph with a tool allowance and time and half paid over 40 hours.
