The role can be based from our Rolleston office here in Selwyn —or for the right person—any pastoral or horticultural region in New Zealand. If you're based further afield, flexible work-from-home arrangements are required. Some travel will be necessary. This is a full-time, permanent position where your ability to drive sales, build strong farmer relationships, and deliver practical, tailored advice will be key to your success. Ideally, you will bring: >A proven background in agricultural sales or rural servicing (seed/fertilizer sales a major plus) >A qualification in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field — or equivalent industry experience >Solid understanding of NZ farming systems, especially pasture-based production >The ability to understand and communicate how seed and soil decisions impact long-term outcomes >Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — someone farmers want to deal with >A high level of initiative, self-management, and attention to detail >Strong computer literacy and the ability work within a CRM framework and to quote and plan with accuracy within existing systems >The flexibility to travel ( some field day and promotional representation will be required) and work independently, while being part of a close team > (Bonus) An existing network of rural contacts Does this sound like you? Ashburton Apiaries is a local family business that specialises in honey production and pollination within the Canterbury District. A full time position has become available and we are looking for someone to join our team. This position is 40 hours a week Monday to Friday with the possibility of weekend work and overtime. We would like a beekeeper with commercial experience, however we will consider training the right person with no prior experience. Duties would include but are not limited to: Working in a team to help with hive maintenance, queen bee raising, requeening, supering, pollination, escaping, extracting and wintering. Applicants will preferably have a farming background or be familiar working on farms and around live stock. As heaving lifting is part of the job, applicants will need to have a suitable level of physical strength and ability and like to work outside in all conditions. A Class2 license would be beneficial, but not necessary. A clean license and no criminal record is a must.

Growing a variety of crops; irrigated and dryland to support the breeding, finishing and dairy operations, consisting of 14,000 breeding ewes and hoggets, 1,000 Angus breeding cows and 2,400 dairy cows. Most stock finished on farm, with replacement and dairy stock wintered on farm also. Due to Willesden’s large scale, and continual development this role will give scope to a large variety of work for the successful candidate. We employ 15 full time staff and up to 15 casual tractor and truck drivers through the silage season. Our services include Cultivation, Precision Drilling, Triple Mowers, Round & Square Baling, Chopping and Cartage also Kinsman Potatoes (Harvesting & Cartage). We run a mixture of tractors Case, Fendt, John Deere, JCB Loaders also Claas Harvesters. Kinsman’s requires an EXPERIENCED Operators to join our team.
