The role can be based from our Rolleston office here in Selwyn —or for the right person—any pastoral or horticultural region in New Zealand. If you're based further afield, flexible work-from-home arrangements are required. Some travel will be necessary. Ashburton Apiaries is a local family business that specialises in honey production and pollination within the Canterbury District. A full time position has become available and we are looking for someone to join our team. This position is 40 hours a week Monday to Friday with the possibility of weekend work and overtime. We would like a beekeeper with commercial experience, however we will consider training the right person with no prior experience. Duties would include but are not limited to: Working in a team to help with hive maintenance, queen bee raising, requeening, supering, pollination, escaping, extracting and wintering. Applicants will preferably have a farming background or be familiar working on farms and around live stock. As heaving lifting is part of the job, applicants will need to have a suitable level of physical strength and ability and like to work outside in all conditions. A Class2 license would be beneficial, but not necessary. A clean license and no criminal record is a must.

Howden Agricultural Services is a broad acre spraying business servicing clients in Mid Canterbury. Due to a team member retiring, we are searching for a trustworthy and capable operator to join the team. We operate three 24m trucks and one self-propelled 24m Househam sprayer. This is a permanent position but would consider seasonal operator. Previous spraying knowledge would be an advantage but is not necessary, as training and support will be provided. Wanted full time shepherd general on 850ha Operation in two blocks 10minutes from Cheviot.
