The role can be based from our Rolleston office here in Selwyn —or for the right person—any pastoral or horticultural region in New Zealand. If you're based further afield, flexible work-from-home arrangements are required. Some travel will be necessary. This is a full-time, permanent position where your ability to drive sales, build strong farmer relationships, and deliver practical, tailored advice will be key to your success. Ideally, you will bring: >A proven background in agricultural sales or rural servicing (seed/fertilizer sales a major plus) >A qualification in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field — or equivalent industry experience >Solid understanding of NZ farming systems, especially pasture-based production >The ability to understand and communicate how seed and soil decisions impact long-term outcomes >Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — someone farmers want to deal with >A high level of initiative, self-management, and attention to detail >Strong computer literacy and the ability work within a CRM framework and to quote and plan with accuracy within existing systems >The flexibility to travel ( some field day and promotional representation will be required) and work independently, while being part of a close team > (Bonus) An existing network of rural contacts Does this sound like you? Howden Agricultural Services is a broad acre spraying business servicing clients in Mid Canterbury. Due to a team member retiring, we are searching for a trustworthy and capable operator to join the team. We operate three 24m trucks and one self-propelled 24m Househam sprayer. This is a permanent position but would consider seasonal operator. Previous spraying knowledge would be an advantage but is not necessary, as training and support will be provided. Willesden Farms is located 30mins from Christchurch on Banks Peninsula. Totaling 6,500ha made up of steep to medium hill country and irrigated flats. Growing a variety of crops; irrigated and dryland to support the breeding, finishing and dairy operations, consisting of 14,000 breeding ewes and hoggets, 1,000 Angus breeding cows and 2,400 dairy cows. Most stock finished on farm, with replacement and dairy stock wintered on farm also.
