Key Requirements: Genuine passion for food and creativity in the kitchen Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude Ability to work independently and thrive under pressure Flexibility to work weekends and late-night shifts Strong attention to detail with a commitment to food quality and presentation Key Responsibilities: Delivering consistently high standards of food quality and taste Menu planning and recipe development Managing food costs, stock control, and inventory Ordering and maintaining food supplies Preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes, including a variety of curries, based on client preferences Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures Expertise in Indian spices, herbs, and garnishing techniques Operating and monitoring kitchen equipment for accurate temperature control Portioning and plating food to professional presentation standards Adhering to food safety practices, including correct storage and refrigeration Preferred Skills: Prior experience with South Indian dishes and biryanis is highly desirable Qualifications & Experience: A relevant Level 4 culinary qualification OR 2 years of proven experience in a similar role Solid understanding of Indian cooking techniques and food safety standards Creative mindset with a strong passion for authentic Indian cuisine Additional Details: Minimum Weekly Hours: 30 Maximum Weekly Hours: 45 Pay Rate: $25.00/hour Location: Woodend, Waimakariri
