Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior Web Content Advisor, Marketing to join the Digital Engagement team on a 12-month, parental leave fixed-term contract. Key responsibilities: * Lead and contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of user-focused, high-quality web content. * Provide training, advice, and practical support to web editors. * Contribute to user-informed content improvements. * Run analytics reports to analyse how the University’s websites are performing to support improvements to our customer journeys, user experience, and search rankings. Ō pūmanawa - About you In this role, you’ll lead and contribute to the development of high-quality, user-focused web content that supports student recruitment, marketing campaigns, and key University initiatives. You’ll work closely with web editors and stakeholders across the University to provide expert advice on content best practices, help solve web-related challenges, and ensure that content decisions are user-centred, purposeful, and aligned with University goals. You’ll need strong writing and content design skills, confidence working with web content management systems, and a passion for making digital experiences better for everyone. We’re looking for someone who is flexible, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement. Key requirements: * Proven ability to write, structure, and edit web content that meets user needs and aligns with organisational goals. * Demonstrated experience leading or taking significant responsibility for web content projects or workstreams. * Strong knowledge of web best practices, including accessibility, usability, writing for the web, plain language, and content design. * Proficiency with web content management systems, and a willingness to explore and adopt new digital tools. * Experience providing advice, peer review, and/or training to stakeholders. * Proven ability to prioritise work and manage competing deadlines. * Flexible, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement, with a strong service ethic. * Ability to notice content issues, customer challenges, and operational changes, and proactively bring these to the team to support continuous improvement. * At least 5 years of experience working in web content, digital communications, or a related field within a complex organisation.
