Operations and H&S Support * Small knit team, supporting a busy operation * Ability to make the role your own * Bring your strong admin skills and experience in safety to our team We are a transport and storage operation, providing services to a wide range of customers. With two depots in Auckland and more in Christchurch, we pride ourselves on our ability to be nimble and responsive while providing a quality service to our partners. We are looking to fill a new role that has a dual focus – firstly providing health & safety support to our busy and complex operations, while also supporting our Operations Supervisors and Managers with operational administration support. The health and safety part of the role is new for our Auckland sites and will see you involved in a range of safety activities – from contractor management, specific truck requirements such as load restraints and parameters, risk assessments, Health & Safety Committee co-ordination, incident investigation support and corrective action follow-up. This role will be the go-to safety resource for our Auckland sites, supporting the local management team, stores and driving staff. Being new, there is the ability for the successful candidate to really make their mark by ensuring safety compliance and lifting our safety performance. The operations support part of the role will see you coordinating daily office-based work – handling, processing, tracking and implementing changes to invoices, ensuring all documentation is entered accurately. Ownership of purchase orders, credit notes and providing a top-notch service to our customers will also make up part of your day. General office duties such as taking calls, email management and phone calls also form part of this role. This role is not for the faint-hearted; however, on offer is the ability to work within our small, knit team, who all care about the work we do. Having fun is paramount, and we ensure we do that every day. We are looking for applications from those who have been in a similar role previously, who have a qualification in the safety area, and who can work autonomously and unsupervised. We are looking for an individual with a high pace, energy and enthusiasm for doing a great job, adding value to our business and the work we do. Being highly computer literate and highly productive is key here, while having experience in a similar industry is preferred but not essential. To be eligible for this full-time position, the successful candidate must complete a criminal conviction check and be able to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing. Mackleys is an equal-opportunity employer and does not discriminate against protected characteristics. We also hold accreditation.
