We're expanding and looking for an agile Operations Lead to support the daily supervision of our urban bus services and operation teams. This is a dynamic role where no two days will be the same as you ensure our services operate efficiently and step up where needed to oversee the day to day running of our bus transport network.
As Operations Lead you will:
* Play a critical role in ensuring our services run safely, efficiently and in line with our contractual and performance standards.
* Work fluidly across our two Auckland depots (West Gate and Dairy Flat) to bolster our operations team.
* Proactively work with our driving teams to resolve issues and uphold a strong safety and customer focused service culture.
We are looking for:
* Experience in an operational role within transport and/or logistics (urban public transport is preferred).
* Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Someone prepared to work flexibly across different tasks and locations and timeframes.
* You thrive in a dynamic environment with a calm, practical approach to operational challenges and incident responses.
* Understanding of NZ legislative transport requirements (preferred).
* Strong health and safety focus.
* Tech savvy to operate our systems.
* NZ Class 2 or 4 driver's licence and P endorsement (preferred or willingness to obtain).

**About the role:**
Reporting to Senior Operations and Safety Manager, we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the operations in our Bulk division based in Glenbrook. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage drivers, optimise transport schedules for maximum efficiency, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
**Key Responsibilites**:
_Driver Management_
- Lead and motivate a team of drivers and manage all aspects of the drivers’ daily schedules including leave requests, potential issues, fleet availability, and compliance of policies to ensure legislative and company requirements are met.
_Journey/Incident Management_
- Monitor, maintain, analyse GPS data and telematics to optimise fleet and driver utilisation and improve solutions to the customer. You will be the first point of contact for the drivers for any issues/incidents during the journey.
_Health, Safety and Compliance_
- Pro-actively work with the Health and Safety Team to ensure robust systems are in place and followed by your team to embed best practices. Conduct regular toolboxes and ensure follow up actions are completed.
_Fleet Management_
- Effectively work with the scheduling team to plan and manage maintenance across all bulk fleet to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
_Stakeholder management_
- Internal Stakeholders: Effectively communicate with Payroll team for approving hours, People & Culture team for recruitment/disciplinary process/performance issues etc and assist Senior Operations and Safety Manager for preparing monthly and quarterly reviews.
- External Stakeholders: Effective communication with the customer to ensure all operational KPIs are met and develop strong customer relationships. Be a strong representative of Alexander Group embodying the vision and values of the business.
**For this role, you will**:
- Have minimum 3 years’ experience in a Managerial/Supervisory role preferably with a transport background. Exposure to the DG world is an advantage.
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel/Word/Powerpoint)
- Ability to lead a team towards success.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and leadership qualities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the Role
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team based in Onehunga, Auckland. You will be responsible for leading the production team in the factory and will be heavily involved in all site operations. You will work closely with many members of the team including the Site Manager, Planning Team and Administration team. You must have proven knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and be a key advocate for all things Health and Safety in production. We are looking for somebody who has proven experience in leading a team in a manufacturing environment. Role Requirements
* Experience in roofing materials production is preferred, however any manufacturing management experience will be beneficial

* Minimum of 3 years production management experience is essential
