10This pair of Coincident Technology Super Eclipse 111 speakers are distinguished by having unmarked superbly-crafted and well-braced 1 inch thick cabinets and are finished with rosewood veneer inside and outside. The twin matched 8 inch doped-paper bass woofers are by SEAS are ported and are fed through a single very heavy air-cored inductor. The twin matched 5 ¼ inch carbon fibre midrange units by Scanspeak are in a separate sealed cabinet with an acoustic crossover point of 140 hz and an electrical crossover point of about 3khz for the tweeters. The midrange units are in a D’Appolito configuration, with the similarly matched Scanspeak 1 inch silk dome Revelator tweeters arranged between them to minimise ‘lobing’. They were purchased with the optional extender spiked feet and by special order with Transcendent Audio, bi-wired terminals were installed. The original owner (I am the second owner) changed to top-of-the-line Dueland capacitors and resistors for each of the two tweeters. The drive units are therefore of the highest Scandinavian quality and bandwidth, as also favoured by many other high-end manufacturers. Because of their high impedance and efficiency, they work very well with single-ended 2A3, 300B and 845 / 211 valve amplifiers but are robust enough to handle 300 watt solid state power amps if that is your thing. The technical specifications are: Frequency response 28 hz to 35 khz +/- 3db Impedance 14 ohms (never below 10 Ohms) Sensitivity 92 db @ 1m – 1 watt Power requirements 7 to 300 watts Dimensions 106.6 cm x 40.6 cm x 20.3 cm Weight 44kg each As The Absolute Sound review below concludes, “This is one classy speaker.” https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/coincident-technology-super-eclipse-iii-loudspeaker-1/ I have the original packaging so all the successful bidder will need to do is price, arrange and pay for a courier or pick them up from central Auckland. Each speaker weights 45kg and the robust packaging measures 1270 x 700 x 270.
