As part of the Reactive Services, based in Wellington, the Outage Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing outage activities to ensure efficient and effective execution. This involves a range of responsibilities and tasks, including: • Coordinating outage planning and scheduling to minimise downtime and impact on operations • Leading outage teams and providing direction to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of work • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify outage requirements and develop comprehensive plans • Managing outage budgets, resources, and equipment to meet project objectives • Evaluating outage performance and implementing improvements for future activities • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during outage activities • Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding outage schedules and progress The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to all prescribed electrical work with 10+ years hands-on experience in Distribution network installation, switching and maintenance. You will require strong verbal and written communication skills, including the writing of reports. Qualifications and Skills • A trade qualification in Distribution is essential • 10+ years hands-on experience in Distribution network installation, switching and maintenance. • Thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to all prescribed electrical work. • Critical thinking and contemplative skills with the ability to solve problems and make decisions. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the writing of reports, and the ability to relate well in an operationally diverse team environment. • Proven experience in a management or relationship building role. • Ability to devise outage management strategy and performance improvement initiatives and drive for results.
