Reporting to the Field Manager your key responsibilities will include: * Install, configure, and maintain fibre optic, copper, and wireless telecommunications network equipment and cabling * Diagnose, locate, and repair network faults efficiently to minimise service disruption * Use specialised testing equipment (e.g., OTDR, Light Source/Power Meter, VFL) to test network performance and integrity * Perform routine network inspections and preventative maintenance **Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills** * Proven hands-on experience as a Telecommunications Technician or a similar field role (minimum 3 years) * NZQA Level 3 Telecommunications Certificate or equivalent preferred * Current Class 1 Drivers Licence * Practical knowledge of fibre splicing, termination, and testing * Familiarity with working in a safety-critical environment and a strong commitment to safe work practices * Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail * Effective communication skills and a customer-focused attitude **Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation** Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
