About the Role: This position is based in our Auckland depot and reports to the NZ Transport Operations Manager. You will lead a fantastic Auckland based team of drivers, dispatch, and yard staff. Key responsibilities are: • Overseeing the Auckland depot operations • Manage the out-bound loading of our Interisland transport fleet • Liaising with sub-contractors to ensure reliability and quality of service • Lead and mentor the Auckland based team • Strong health & safety commitment and focus • Exceeding customer expectations and delivering exceptional service • Planning and managing vehicle services, VCA, COF, and repairs • Maintaining and growing excellent customer relationships • Driving business development • Communication across all levels of the business Key skills and experience: • Proven transport management and/or dispatch experience • Ability to utilise existing technology and learn new systems quickly and proficiently • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge and experience of NZTA rules and compliance • Sound knowledge of health & safety standards related to the transport industry • Critical thinker and problem solver • Sound geographical knowledge of Auckland and New Zealand • A positive "make it happen" attitude Applications close 20 June, and successful short-listed candidates only will be contacted by 23 June.
