Based in our Hobsonville yard are you ready to dive into an exciting role in the hydro-excavation and waste processing industry? About the Role We are looking for someone with a mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with large machinery. In this role, you will work at the FINAL STAGE of processing excavations, recycling water content, and managing various waste streams using our cutting-edge hydro-excavation recycling plant. No prior experience with hydro machines? No problem—we provide full training for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities • Reporting to the Machine Operations Supervisor. • Waste processing. • Setting up and operating machinery. • Providing feedback and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. • Performing operational preventative maintenance, including cleaning, checks, and lubrication. • Handling frontend loader operations for moving solids and loading trucks (training and licensing provided). • Coordinating with Hydrovac and client drivers for dumping and loading operations. Flexible Work Hours You’ll need to be adaptable to accommodate truck operations and client schedules, which may include weekend work depending on client requirements. What We’re Looking for to excel in this role, you should: • Have proven mechanical aptitude and relevant experience. • Be reliable, smart, and hardworking. • Demonstrate accuracy and problem-solving skills. • Commit to health and safety standards. • Hold a Class 4 driver’s license (ideal but not essential). • Thrive in a busy production environment. • Work independently when needed. • Be eager to learn and contribute to the engineering team. • Have reliable personal transport. • Experience as an Environmental Technician or Waste Analyst would be a major plus but should not stop others applying.
