New Seed Solutions, a New Zealand company is a seed production company based in Mauku, in the Pukekohe area, near Auckland. We produce Maize and Sweetcorn seed for export to the Northern Hemisphere in a 100% GMO free environment. Due to an increased workload, New Seed Solutions is looking for a Carpenter to assist our staff. This position is full time permanent. Primary Responsibilities Construct and maintain specialized seed handling and storage facilities, including seed drying structures, bins, and dryer rooms. Work with management to prioritize maintenance projects to support harvest efficiency. Measure, cut, and assemble materials using appropriate hand and power tools. Inspect and maintain the integrity of structures used for storage and equipment housing. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and agricultural best practices, especially in sensitive seed zones. Support general farm maintenance needs during off-peak carpentry times, including light plumbing, fence repair, and equipment housing. Perform seasonal repairs and preparations of seed-related facilities before and after harvest cycles. Utilizing the forklift to load and unload where necessary. Operating company vehicles (cars, trucks, tractors) with loads and driving on roads and fields. Woodwork with saws and drilling. All other tasks as and when required. Given the nature of this role, availability during evenings and weekends is non-negotiable. The period leading up to Christmas and through the New Year is especially demanding, but you may be scheduled for occasional days off, subject to manager approval. Requirements: 1. Minimum 3 years’ experience or Level 3 Qualification as a Carpenter. 2. Understanding of the drying of seed and other materials. 3. Build a strong understanding of seed production, processing and optimising seed quality. 4. Practical mechanical & operational skills. Able to work constructively alone and in a team. 5. Physically capable of undertaking rigorous manual tasks. 6. Ability to work unsupervised. 7. Preparedness to work at improving yourself and the business. 8. Innovative and open to change. 9. Accurate, consistent and attention to detail. 10. Medium level computer skills 11. Excellent communication skills. 12. Enthusiastic and energetic. 13.
