Job description We are running two butchery shops in a famous Chinese supermarket at Waitakere and North Shore, Auckland. We now need butcher assistant to help us to provide top-quality meat retail service at Waitakere shop. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 hours per week. The job involves the following tasks and duties: Help meat preparation, including preparing meat for cutting, trimming, and further processing. Cleaning raw meat and inspecting it for quality Cleaning working area, cutting utensils and equipment, ensuring that all surfaces are sanitized to meet food safety standards Weighing and portioning the meat, wrapping and labeling the packages with the appropriate information May interact with customers, providing them with information about different cuts of meat, suggesting cooking methods, and assisting with their purchase decisions Assist to manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, rotating products to ensure freshness, and alerting the butcher when supplies need to be replenished Perform other reasonable tasks required by butchers Job requirements To qualify for the job: No prior work experience or qualification is needed. But preference will be given to those who have experience in similar role. Able to work in a cold environment and physically fit to lift 15-20 kg.
