He Korero Mo Te Turanga | The Role Bring your lived experience with mental health and/or addiction and mana to support wahine on their recovery journey. We're looking for a Corrections Peer Support Worker to join our team at Wiri Women's Prison. In this full-time role, you'll provide hope and guidance through a mix of peer-led support, brief interventions, a 10-week therapeutic programme, and ongoing aftercare. In this role, you will: * Build trusted, supportive relationships with wahine in a corrections setting * Use your lived experience to offer hope, resilience, and guidance * Support goal-setting, recovery planning, and group facilitation * Deliver culturally safe, strengths-based AOD-focused programmes * Work alongside clinical teams, Corrections staff, and whanau supports * Keep accurate records and report any risks or concerns appropriately He Korero Mou | About You You're someone who leads with empathy and is confident working in a prison environment. You believe in the potential of people to grow and heal, and you're ready to walk alongside wahine in their recovery. You'll bring: * Personal lived experience of mental health and/or addiction recovery (please share in your cover letter) * A Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health & Wellbeing (or equivalent) * A full NZ driver's licence * Basic computer and documentation skills * Understanding of trauma-informed practice and te ao Maori values Nga Hua | What We Offer We value your life experience and your voice.
