We're on the lookout for two caring and capable Chefs to join our kitchen team in Auckland. Our mission is to create a relaxed atmosphere where friends, family and our customers can come together to enjoy delicious food. Key Responsibilities • Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, specials, etc. • Offer ideas for new dishes and, when invited, submit new items on the menu. • Ensure individual sections and responsibilities are ready to meet daily, functional and special requirements. • Manage food costs and actively pursue cost-saving measures. • Monitor the productivity of the Kitchen • Ensure each component of a dish prepared is up to standard and properly cooked and delivered on time. • Follow recipes and instructions carefully. • Maintain standard recipes of all menu items • Prepare and cook appropriate amounts of stock to meet demand but avoid waste. • Supervise and maintain quality control for outgoing meals and incoming produce according to specifications. • Works within Health, Safety and Hygiene standards at all times • Remains flexible to accommodate additional requests and responsibilities as required • Keeps calm and manages stressful situations effectively • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers • Manages and directs kitchen staff • Ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained in your area • Ensure Food Safety responsibilities are being met • Actively interacts with internal and external customers to anticipate needs • Interact with staff professionally and positively to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two-way communication • Communicates problems, resolved or unresolved, to your manager • Work in line with business needs What We Are Looking For -- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen. --A solid understanding of kitchen operations and service flow. -Commitment to quality, cleanliness, and efficiency -A passion for food and the restaurant industry. Permanent --Full time (minimum 30 hours, maximum 40 hours per week), on a roster system that can include weekends, evenings and some public holidays.
