The Role The role will see you split your time as directed by the branch manager between machine operation and other factory tasks. When working in the factory you will use a mixture of steel roll forming machines including ridge, gutter and long run roll formers, our new state-of-the art folder and slitter as well as forklifts and gantry cranes. While dealing with customers, you will be an ambassador for the company and will professionally operate in a customer focus way. What you will bring: * Work in a health and safety focussed way * Be reliable and willing to learn * Be a good communicator * Have an eye for detail * Prepared to work full-time on a permanent basis Your core duties will include (but not limited to): * Operating our machinery to make made-to-order products * Ensuring manufactured goods meet a high standard * Using a forklift and gantry cranes to load and unload products and materials You will work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday with over time available periodically when needed. To help with work/life balance, we usually close for two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period. Proper Crisps is looking for a motivated individual to join our production team. We have a full-time position available in our Factory on our night-time shift. The shift is over a five-day week, (Monday to Thursday 10pm to 5.15am; Friday 10pm to 6.30am - 35 hours), with standard shift hours totalling approx. 35 hrs per week. We want someone who is a night owl and happy to work these hours. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and duties will include, but not limited to, trimming of potatoes and vegetables, grading, packing, quality control and cleaning. Ideally you will have some technical skills and be keen to learn and understand the process required to produce the best product; ensure the correct reassembly and programme changes of all mechanical and electronic devices prior to operation; adhere to documentation and quality control and have the ability to understand and work within the process parameters. For the right person there is opportunity for growth and advancement in the role. You will also be responsible for observing and reporting / communicating any safety and / or quality issues during operational processes. All our staff actively participate in, and contribute to, the team’s directives towards operational excellence and we encourage individual and team development. The role We are seeking a Timber Machinist to join our team in Richmond.  This is a varied role operating spindle moulders, thickness planers and basic profiling machines to manufacture timber products including exterior cladding, interior linings, flooring, and scotia/ceiling trims.   Key tasks include: - Machinery set up for different timber/order specifications, feeding timber and stacking - Accurately measuring and cutting timber to size, filleting timber for kiln drying - Forklift operation Qualities, Skills and Experience This role will suit someone with experience in operating timber moulding machinery who is keen to learn new skills. Being able to interpret drawings, calculate measurements accurately and have an eye for detail will set you up for a success in the role. F endorsement and OSH certificate are also required (if your endorsement/certification has lapsed we can support you to renew these). While not essential a NZ Certificate qualification in Timber Machining (Level 4) is desirable. Due to the nature of working with timber, being physically capable of working with timber up to 20kgs is required.
